- Bloomberg: a Chinese state-owned lender financed purchases of restricted Nvidia chips Report
Bloomberg News reported that filings with Beijing regulators show Xinxin Finance Leasing, created in 2015 by China's national integrated-circuit investment fund and now majority-held by the Shenzhen, Beijing and other provincial governments, had over the past year advanced Hongjing Technology and its subsidiaries more than 3 billion yuan to buy more than 700 servers. One contract covered 32 Asus servers fitted with Nvidia B300 chips, bought from a Chinese company about which little is public; the B300 cannot be sold to China without a licence. Nvidia said it was investigating the report with its OEM customers, and Asus said it abides by all applicable export-control laws.
